What We Believe

Our Vision for Calvary Chapel Magazine

That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works. —Psalm 26:7, KJV

Calvary Chapel churches and missionaries are reaching the world, sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ and nurturing new believers in the faith. The vision of Calvary Chapel Magazine is to be an instrument that glorifies the sovereign Lord God and His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray that the Holy Spirit uses this publication to communicate to the CC family the Good News of the spread of the Gospel.

As we convey the testimonies of those who have answered God’s call on their lives, we pray it will encourage you to prayerfully support these missionaries and answer God’s call on your life.

For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit and in much assurance, as you know what kind of men we were among you for your sake.

As the Apostle Paul stated, the goal is to spread the Gospel not only in word, but also with power and in the Holy Spirit—with great conviction and absolute certainty. We desire to point the lost to a relationship with Jesus Christ and encourage Christians who are seeking God’s will. We hope the stories will encourage you to let the light of Jesus Christ shine in your life and your community.

We believe Calvary Chapel has a biblically sound and balanced understanding of the church, its function in the world, and its total dependence upon the guidance of the Holy Spirit for its success. The Spirit faithfully proclaims the Good News of the cross of Jesus Christ and the hope of salvation through Him only.

It has been the vision of Pastor Chuck Smith of CC Costa Mesa , CA, to use CC Magazine as a tool to unite Calvary Chapels worldwide and tell of God’s wondrous works within our Calvary Chapel family. Since its inception more than nine years ago, there have been many pastors who have utilized the publication to instill a missions mentality within their churches. Through the pictures and stories, many have been encouraged and sent out.

Ultimately, we want to help lead people to a more personal understanding and relationship with our Savior Jesus Christ.
